Field Trips Down Under

There are no school buses here. We either walk to school, or drive. Needless to say, it was pretty different for Riley when she rode on a tour bus for her field trip. They went to see a movie at the movie theater, and then they went to a park to eat lunch. Brody and I joined them for lunch.

Taylor also had a field trip, but they had to walk. It was an all day swim party at the local pool, with pizza for lunch. Brody and I didn't get to go on this one.

Taylor and Riley each volunteered to bring a treat for their class. Riley brought "ice pops" which are popsicles, and Taylor brought "ice milks" which are fudgesicles. Both were a big hit!

Now that's ridin' in style! I think I'll suggest those for our field trips ... can you see a fleet of those things rolling in at Pine Tree and a bunch of kindergartners getting off?!!!
Riley, how did you like the movie? Better yet, how did you like the ride to the movie?
Taylor, how was the pool party? Are all of your friends great swimmers like you? You didn't get any sunburn did you?

From Riley - Sherry the movie was great, you should take Shanny to see it. The bus ride was better than a school bus because the chairs are soft and more comfortable.

From Taylor - Sherry the pool party was fun. Most kids are good swimmers. I didn't get sunburned because I got a sun smart shirt to wear over my swim suit.

Riley - Shanny does want to see the movie but what Shanny wants and what Shanny gets are two totally different things! Don't get too used to that nice comfy bus because back here in Mahtomedi we still use the primitive "school bus"!

Taylor - Maybe they are good swimmers, but they aren't as good as you! I was wondering if you could pick me up some of that smart shirt stuff? I am looking for a whole outfit, shirt and pants (long pants).
